Show me the money!!!

We all have said, at one time that these "athletes are being paid too much for playing a game". We'll I don't believe that they are paid too much because, of their longevity in their sports are not as long as our career with our companies. Can a person really play football for 30 years; how about basketball; people have come close to playing baseball for that amount of time. The money that athletes make in such a short amount of time is worth it because they will not be able to function as easily as most people after their careers. It's not our fought but, most athlete don't posses the knowledge to balance their own check books. The reason being most of their life has been spent on the practice fields. After the cameras microphones and reporters are finished interviewing; the athletes are lost. I forgot to mention the beating their bodies take and the pains they go threw; a prime example is Earl Campbell of the Houston Oilers. He is close to 50 years old and has a hard time getting out of bed. Phil Jackson has had hip replacement, knee troubles and he was never an all-star. For the money athletes make it is worth it because life after sports is filled with pain.

Worst NBA Draft

The 2004 NBA draft class has been the most disappointing in terms of players making the all-star game. It has been four years and only one player has made the mid season extravaganza (Superman the second) Dwight Howard. Superman might have a side kick in terms of a peer from the 04 class. This player should have made the all-star game last year and should be a lock for this season "Al Jefferson".Their have been productive players in that years draft, like Josh and J.R Smith, Ben Gordon, Luol Deng, Emeka Okafor, Kelvin Martin all fell short of the all- star game. Josh Smith has won the Dunk contest if you consider that to be an award; Ben Gordon has won the sixth-man of the year as a rookie, but other than those three...nothing. The 2006 draft class only has Brandon Roy who's made the all-star game but it is too early for this class to be judged.

Flopping Champion returns to the NBA

The NBA season has officially begun for the referees now that Manu Ginobli has returned to action. Ginobli forces the NBA officials to make calls based on his long arms flying everywhere even if their wasn't a foul. In last seasons playoffs he threw his arms in the air more than a women in church. During the off season the league has developed a new flopping rule so, now lets see if it will be enforced or how often Manu is guilty of flopping. Video reviewers are advised to report to the league if he or she sees someone theatrically flop. Manu watch out, the league will fine players for these theatrics. These rules should make Rasheed Wallace happier because he accused the Celtics of flopping in their 2007 conference championship series. Hey didn't the Pistons get blown out by the Celtics last week. So much for a happier and quieter Rasheed.

Life after Brady

Is it too early to think of life after Tom Brady? I don't believe so because, I have totally forgot about him due to the stellar performances by Cassel. Matt has thrown for815 and 6 touchdown in two weeks. Cassel has shown the NFL world that New Englands system is superior to every other team in the league and, Bill Belichick is a genius. Cleveland is now sorry Belichick is no longer their coach. Everyone knows the story of Cassel not starting in college, sitting behind Matt Leinart and rarely taking a snap. This is what makes him even better because, he has a fresh arm and he has no pressure to preform. If the Patriots rid themselves of t Brady it would further prove Belichicks Hall of Fame status, actually he should get a yellow jacket while his is coaching. Why not trade Brady; they have replaced everyone from Lawer Milloy, Troy Brown and Drew Bledsoe the same quarterback that Brady has replaced. and one thing remain consistence.. WINNING. Are we sure that Tom Brady will come back in the same shape and the same leader he was before his injury. He made a costly mistake in he judgement as far as going to his own doctor instead of the one provided by the team. He is clearly thinking about himself and not the team, so the teams has to think about their future and saving on the big Brady contract will enable them to get stronger and younger on defense.

You Can 't Play With My Ball

I have been receiving Crap for the blog about Stephon Marbury the other day. It's not that I'm a Starbury fan, I'm a basketball fan and I would like to see the best product put on the court. This whole saga seems childish to me; How in Phoenix Starbury wanted to go New York because he was "home sick" D'Antoni took offense to that and let him go. Now that they meet in New York D'Antoni wont let him play despite Starbury being able to score like Nash and distributing the ball almost as good. D'Antoni is giving up possible victories because of his pride. GET OVER IT MEN; and I use that word loosely because of the way you are acting. It's like kids on the playground; Mikey wont let Stephon play with his new basketball because, Stephon didn't want to be on Mikey's team because he thought they will never win. I thought you were Professionals act like it.

The Bears to pick a Bugger

This seasons "Monsters of the Midway" lacks one big thing... a little bit of nastiness. That nastiness was suppose to come form a Dusty guy from Oklahoma, but it isn't working out as planned because the Bears are ranked 30th against the pass giving up 249 yards per game. The "Tampa Two" or "Cover Two" whatever you want to call it is predicated on rushing the quarterback in which the Bears are not doing (Ala 17 sack this season). Dusty Dvoracek is the only man on that d-line the doesn't get doubled teamed and is the constantly running parallel to the line of scrimmage. If Dusty can get a little pressure up the middle the Bears defense will improve vastly because, the quarterback wouldn't have the time to throw and the corner's wouldn't be left on an Island as long. Unfortunately, this isn't happening and the Bears are being picked apart, instead of them picking a bugger (Anthony McFarland) to solve the problem. McFarland knows the system because he played for Tampa and Monty Kiffen and Indianapolis for Tony Dungy where he beat the Bears for one of his two championship. The best thing about picking Booger is that he is available to be a reserve after coming off patella tendon surgery. If the Bears really want to make a serious push for the division title the will add someone to their defensive line. Hey it's alway make me fill better once I pick a Big Bugger.

The NFL Best Player Ever "Randy Moss"

The best players in any sports are the ones who can make their teammates better. This is clear when we see the emergence of Wes Welker. Welker was a regular run of the mill receiver before is arrival in New England. Everyone says that Tom Brady made Welker the Pro-Bowl receiver of 2007; Wrong. It was the deep threat and constant double teams that Randy Moss has suffered through that has given the Welker and Brady and the Patriots career years. Moss gave Brady 20 additional touchdowns that put him over the top to reach a record breaking season of 2007. He has also given Welker a Pro bowl in his double teams receives. Moss has made Daunte Culpepper a MVP where he threw39 Touchdowns; now look at Culpeppers career he is struggling in Detroit and wondering if he will play next year. Can Jerry Rice say that he has made another reciever better as well as two quarterbacks/

Will the Prince be Crowned again?

The King may have a gold Medal but the Prince has that and a ring. The Pistons will go as far as Tayshaun Prince will leads them; as seen in last nights Boston Massacre. In the first quarter the Pistons looked really good with Tayshaun running the point and tied with the Celtics at 21. Once the second quarter started with Rodney Stuckley running the point the Pistons lost the ball and barrings that kept them together. At half time the Piston were down by nine and looking for an answer. The "Answer" was wrong in the third quarter as well because the Piston were down as much as 15 before Curry realized that the Fresh Prince of Detroit was ready to take over.
Prince has been the second fiddle the Chauncey Billups for several years and now it is time for him to step up with Chauncey's departure. Prince has placed his on success on the back burner in order to get his team to 6 conference finals.Tayshaun has never been a vocal leader but, his play speaks louder than the thousands of fans at the Palace who cheer the Pistons on. Does anyone remember when he blocked Reggie Miller's breakaway when he only had ten points in the game. Prince turned the key and started Pistons and now he has to keep the Pistons going. In the finals he and his long arms gave Kobe Bryant nightmares all five games. Wallace is clearly not leveled headed enough to do it; Rip can't see past his mask and A.I is not the answer for Detroit.

A High Priced Star For Sell

ATTENTION, ATTENTION I have 19 point and seven assist and 38 minutes a game for sale... Going once...Going twice... going three times. What's wrong... these averages are almost as good as Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Jason Kidd. Still no takers? Hey...Charlotte... Golden State... Sacramento; are you telling me that you have point guards on your team? Golden State, I say you starting a rookie who couldn't bring the ball past half court the other night(Demarcus Nelson). I also saw you start another guy that has never scored over 17 points(C.J Watson) in a game. Sacramento are you telling me the guy who once had a song named "My Prerogative" and one of those "Jackson Five" guys are better than my Stephon Marbury. That guy you have from Slo-venia can't be fast enough to play in the NBA. What is wrong with you people? Charlotte your coach worked with the BIGGEST QUESTION in the league and made him The Answer. The question was also the reason why the League has a dress code. Your coach won a championship with a guy who was traded five time in his first seven years in the league. Did I mention that your really don't have any point guards that shoot over 42 percent from the field? Come on, somebody needs Stephon Marbury; the same guy who knew that KG wouldn't bring a title to Minnesota and Mike D'Antoni to Phoenix. The guy can sees the future and no one wants him?

Kiffen to San Diego ?

Why not, he did more with less talent and a horrible owner with the Raiders. Norv Turner has never been able to get to the promise land with the Redskins, Radiers or the Chargers. He has had enough talent everywhere he's been but he's never made a run at a ring. We let Turner off the hook by saying his teams are too young (Oakland) or had a lot of injuries (Washington). Turner's had players like Rivers, Tolminson, Frerotte and Moss under his watchful eye as a head coach and produced nothing. In Washington he was ten games under 500; His years with the Radiers produced another losing record; so watch out Charger fans Turners Torment is on it's way.
Lane Kiffin has been given young talented players such as Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden and Jarmarcus Russell; None of which has truly developed into elite players yet, but if given the time and chance; Kiffin would have had the same success as he had with the Trojans. Kiffin has helped Bush, Leinart Steve Smith(not Carolina's) all get to the NFL from USC. The Trojans have not been as dominate since Kiffin left the college ranks. USC barely made the Rose Bowl last year and it looks questionable the this season as well. Kiffns ingenious coaching would make the Chargers a true title contender. He would has Tolminson, Rivers, Gates and Chambers to make an outstanding offense. Hey, he cant do any worst than Turner has.

I know that their isn't many people complaining about the recent basketball hall of fame induction with names like Riley, Ewing, Olajuwon and Vitale....What Dick Vitale? The dipsy doo Dunka roo guy. What has he given to the game of basketball? 60 losses... or has given more Duke players like Alaa Abdelnaby or Danny Ferry enough hype to get into the NBA. I know of one deserving man who has giving his life to basketball and has not been recoginzed, that man is Johnny "Red" Kerr. I know your saying, "this guy is crazy for thinking Red Kerr should be in the basketball hall of fame." Johnny "Red' Kerr was the first iron man of the nba by playing 844 straight games. Tell me how many players can say that they played 70 games in a row. Don't say the level of competition wasn't equal because Kerr played against all the Hall of Famers like Chamberline, Pettit, Mikan, Russell and Stokes. Throught Kerrs twelve year career he averaged a "double double 13ppg and 11 boards. Thats better than Hall of famer Wes Unseld who averaged 10ppg and 14 rebounds a game for 13 years. Kerr was a three time allstar and able to help the Syracuse National win a championship as a player. After his playing days were over, Kerr introduced the world to the first "Sultan of Slam" Julius Dr. J Erving and The Ice Man George Gervin. When Chicago was starving for basketball, Kerr took the expansion Bulls to the playoffs and won the coach of the year. Kerr's coaching career lasted two more year than Vitale. Kerr has spent over twenty five years in the broadcast booth so why isn't he in the hall or why hasn't the Bulls hung a banner up for the good old Red?
